Having a free weekend, I and my boyfriend spontaneously decided to go outside Tokyo, to discover Japanese autumn beauty. We randomly picked Kawaguchiko area, a place very close to Fuji san, and the big lake. We found a cheap bus connection leaving from Shinjuku. It took around 3 and a half hours to get to Kawaguchiko station. When we arrived, we just had a short walk to the hotel at the lake, which was all in Japanese style so we enjoyed our tatami room. In the evening we took the ropeway, which was very close to the lake, and we got to the observation spot, where we could see Fuji san in the sunset. It was an amazing view, and we took hundreds of pictures. The next day, we had a walk around the lake and we walked over the bridge at the lake to the other side. When the weather is good it is a great walk. We went to the forest music museum, which I can recommend visiting. It is a very unique place to spend a free afternoon and relax, take pictures, see different instruments. When we were enjoying our walk at the lake, we noticed a little market place, with many stalls with food such as grilled fish, yakisoba, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, and many people sitting with families enjoying food and the great autumn weather on a Sunday afternoon. We got our lunch there, and we sat down at the lake, eating and looking at Fuji san. The Kawaguchiko area is an amazing place to spend a weekend if you want to see the colourful trees in autumn, take pictures of Fuji san, enjoy the walk around the lake, admire the nature and switch off from the metropolitan noise.
