Japanese Language Placement Test
In order to enroll in any of the CJLE’s courses, students must take a placement test.
The objective of the placement test is to obtain an accurate picture of each student’s Japanese language skills and to make sure
that students are increasing their skills most effectively by studying at the proper level.
| Desired Level | Placement Test Requirement |
| J0 | Taking the placement test is not required.
After fully understanding the J0-level description, students must indicate their desire to take the J0 course via the form in advance.
|

To enter the J1 course, students must be able to read and write Hiragana and Katakana. |
| J2 or higher | Students must take the placement test.
