Education Policy

The goal of Japanese language education at Rikkyo University is not just to acquire knowledge about the language. Instead, we aim to teach you how to communicate using the Japanese that you have learned and to help you express your own opinions in Japanese. In other words, our goal is to teach you the four skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

For that reason, if you can manage basic communication but you cannot use Japanese correctly, if you struggle to answer when asked a question, or if you’ve forgotten what you learned in the past, we take the time to work with you individually to improve your skills.

We also offer courses that meet graduate and undergraduate academic needs or job placement and workplace needs.
